Jeff Wampler

Founder & Co-CEO

Jeff co-founded Blackjack in 2025 and serves as Co-CEO. Prior to founding Blackjack, Jeff served as EVP, Engineering and Evaluations with 89 Energy where he led the Reservoir Engineering, Development Budgeting & Planning, Reserves, and A&D Evaluation functions for the company.

Body

Prior to joining 89 Energy, Jeff held technical roles at Kayne Anderson and Warburg Pincus, working with management teams across most basins in the U.S. and Canada to evaluate and underwrite deal opportunities, and build and manage long-term plans for each business. Jeff started his career at BP where he held roles covering reservoir and completions engineering then joined Hilcorp Energy Company, holding engineering and leadership roles across multiple Asset Teams and the New Ventures and A&D Groups. Jeff received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.

Andrew Haraway

Founder & Co-CEO

Andrew co-founded Blackjack in 2025 and serves as Co-CEO. Prior to founding Blackjack, Andrew served as Chief Financial Officer with 89 Energy where he led the Finance, Accounting and Midstream / Marketing functions for the company.

Body

Prior to 89 Energy, Andrew served as an investment professional with NGP Energy Capital Management where he focused on equity investments in upstream companies in the U.S. and Canada, serving on the deal teams for numerous portfolio companies. Andrew started his career as an investment banker at TPH & Co where he provided financial and strategic advice to clients in the upstream and midstream sectors. Andrew received a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance from Texas A&M University.

Grant Sykes

Founder & EVP, Operations

Grant co-founded Blackjack in 2025 and serves as EVP, Operations. Prior to founding Blackjack, Grant served as VP, Operations with 89 Energy where he led all production and completions operations for the company.

Body

While at 89 Energy, Grant led a team of field production and completions personnel and managed all of 89 Energy III’s stimulations, materials logistics, workovers, drillouts, AFL installs and TIL operations. Prior to 89 Energy, Grant served as Completion Manager at Native Exploration where he assisted the team in understanding recent well performance and historical induced seismicity. Grant started his career with EOG Resources and served primarily as a completions operations engineer – designing, planning and leading over 200 modern horizontal slickwater stimulations and drillouts across multiple onshore US basins. Grant was appointed as Woodford Team Lead in 2018, leading an interdisciplinary team developing EOG’s Eastern Anadarko position with 2 to 4 drilling rigs while continuing to serve in an operations role. Grant received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma.

Jacob Hendrickson

VP, Finance & Accounting

Jacob joined Blackjack in 2025 and serves as VP, Finance & Accounting. Prior to joining Blackjack, Jacob served as VP, Accounting, Controller & Treasurer at 89 Energy where he led the accounting and treasury functions.

Body

Prior to 89 Energy, Jacob worked at American Energy Partners since 2014 where he was responsible for internal and external financial reporting and technical accounting. Jacob began his career in public accounting in 2011, working as an auditor at KPMG with a primary focus on publicly traded and privately held E&P companies. Jacob received a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University and is a licensed CPA in Oklahoma.

Ryan Jordan

Director, Geoscience

Ryan joined Blackjack in 2025 and serves as Director of Geoscience. Prior to joining Blackjack, Ryan served as Senior Geologist at Novo Oil and Gas leading exploration across the Anadarko Basin and contributing to evaluations across the Delaware Basin.

Body

Ryan began his career at Chesapeake Energy as a geologist on the Anadarko Basin team, where he gained extensive experience in planning and execution of Chesapeake’s development program while overseeing multiple rigs. He later served as lead geologist for the Upper Marcellus, helping advance the play from appraisal to full-scale development while delivering some of the strongest production results in the basin. Ryan played a key role in the evaluation of several acquisitions while at Chesapeake, including the Chief O&G acquisition. Ryan later joined Fervo Energy, applying oil and gas geoscience expertise to Fervo’s first-of-its-kind geothermal project.  Ryan received a B.S. in in Geology from Oklahoma State University and a M.S. in Geology from the University of Oklahoma.
